While having a great morning can feel pretty magical,
there's more to the perfectly productive day. Having a good, well thought out
morning routine maximizes your productivity throughout the day. It can improve your overall health,
well-being, and productivity. If you
don't have one, you're missing out.
There are many ways to get into a routine, but the
number one rule is to make it work for you. It's important to remember that
there isn't an ideal morning routine for everyone, but there is an ideal one
for you. Just because a routine works
for your friend or family member doesn't mean it's the best for you to take.

reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own." - Bruce Lee
Here are my
suggestions for 10 daily morning routine for a productive day:
PERFECT YOUR BEDTIME HABITS
Early to bed and early to rise do make a man Healthy,
Wealthy, and Wise. This is the first step to start a routine. People have
different sleep patterns that allow them to function throughout the day. When
you feel energetic, studies suggest self-esteem rises. But feeling tired can
have the opposite effect.
Research shows that the majority of successful people
wake up well before the workday actually begins. By waking up early, you can do
simple, mindful things and get a jump start on the day before you get worn down
by the day's responsibilities and events.
TURN ON THE LIGHT
Whether it's natural or artificial, light is
significant because it tells the brain that the day has begun and sends signals
to the body to stop producing melatonin, the hormone that helps regular sleep.
MAKE YOUR BED
It may sound like a waste of time. But trust me when I
say, making your bed in the morning will give you a sense of accomplishment.
Not to mention the feeling of coming back from a stress-filled day to an
already made, clean bed. Having an organized living space makes all the
difference.
DRINK COLD WATER
After you wake up, hydrate; you've just gone for a
long time without drinking any water. Water perks you up and gets
your muscles and organs working. It fires up your metabolism, hydrates you,
helps your body flush out toxins, gives your brain fuel, and may even make you
eat less.
MEDITATE
Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind
to focus and redirect your thoughts. You can use it to increase awareness of
yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce
stress and develop concentration. People also use the practice to develop other
beneficial habits and feelings, such as a positive mood and outlook,
self-discipline, healthy sleep patterns and even increased pain tolerance.
EAT A HEALTHY BREAKFAST
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Try to incorporate protein and carbohydrate
into your breakfast The protein makes you feel full for longer and the high
fibre carbohydrates regulate your blood sugar levels. Consider oatmeal or
quinoa with bananas, almonds, and a little honey for a healthy, easy, low-cost
start to your day.
EXERCISE
Exercise gives you energy, motivation, physical and
mental stamina and magnifies your day-to-day productivity. You can achieve
twice as much by keeping fit. It keeps the brain functioning well.
There's the real science behind the relation between
mental sharpness, memory, and exercise. According to studies, working out
causes your brain to secrete a chemical called a neurotrophic factor, which
boosts your brain function.
READ
There's something about reading that you just cannot
describe. It makes you forget about the troubles in your life and helps you
enter into a world that is very different from yours.
Studies have revealed that reading is great for your
brain health, and makes you an imaginative person. It makes you empathetic
because you gain a better understanding of people and the world. Do read to not
only learn and achieve more but to be aware of current events and how it
affects your life.
SCHEDULE YOUR DAY
Without a schedule, it's easy to get to the end of the
day and realize you've achieved nothing of importance. So make a list of the
tasks you want to accomplish during the day and decide where your priorities
lie. Try to be realistic about your efficiency instead of creating a lengthy
list of tasks that will be impossible to complete.
For each of your task, take a few minutes to chunk it
down into simple steps. By doing this, you'll have a better understanding of
what needs to be done and how to schedule the work into your day.
SPEND TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES
Morning time is typically when people are the least
drained, so spending some time with your family or friends when you've got the
energy can build genuine happiness and connection before tackling the day
ahead. Don't be in so much of a hurry in the morning that you forget the most
valuable people in your life. Relationships are so important; be sure to
nurture yours.
The hardest part of starting a morning routine is
getting started. My advice is to create a habit and try hard to maintain
it. Routines can be an excellent balance
of both work and play, as long as they are in tune with what your goals and
intentions are.
